We celebrated Catechetical Sunday on the weekend of 15/16 September 2007 with the commissioning of all catechists of all language groups during the various language Masses at the Sacred Heart Cathedral.

The English language catechists from the Faith Formation (Sunday School), RCIA, CIC, Kids of the Kingdom, SGNB and the two Special Ministries were commissioned during the Sunset Mass on Saturday 15th September.

More than 30 catetchists were present to take their pledges before the pastor and the parish community during this ceremony.

In his homily,  Fr. Wilfred Atin highlighted on the importance of the roles that the catechists play in the parish. He said, many of the works in the parish would have been left undone had the catechists not answer the calling to be disciples of Jesus. He however stressed on the importance of the fact that the parents are still the first catechists of every family.

Before the Mass ended,  a slide presentation entitled "Family, a Nursery for Discipleship" was played before the congregation.
