St. Francis & Shan Tao Playschools & Kindergartens

The Playschools & kindergartens are now open for registration for children born in 2004, 2005 & 2006. Catholic catechism forms a part of the academic curriculum of the school, thus giving children an opportunity to learn their Catholic faith at a very young age. Couples who wish to get married either at the Sacred Heart Cathedral or Church of Mary Immaculate, Bukit Padang are required to meet with the Parish Priest at the SHC Parish Office at least 4 months prior to the proposed date of marriage.

Come! Get the “opportunity to Explore the Meaning of Life” through the Alpha course. Over 13 million people had found the “Meaning of Life” through attending an Alpha course across the world, as it is being conducted in 163 countries. It is set in a very relaxing, fun and friendly fashion, spread over ten weekly sessions. The 1st session will begin on Monday, 28^th September 2009 at 7.00pm with free dinner at the SHPC canteen area, followed by a DVD talk at Room F7 at 8.00pm.

Parents who wish to register their children (aged 4 to 7 years old) for classes with the Kids of the Kingdom may do so at the St. Francis Kindergarten during the Sunset Mass on Saturday (6.00pm - 7.00pm) or the Sunday English Mass (9.00am – 10.00am) every weekend.

The Love of Christ Impels Us at the Thought

Catechesis for Everyone, Come and Listen. God is calling YOU!! Every Tuesday and Thursday, from 7.45pm to 8.45pm at Room G1, SHPC starting Thursday, 10^th September 2009.

The SHC foyer is suppose to be a clear entrance to the Cathedral, therefore, there should be NO seating arrangements made here. Parishioners are also requested not to bring chairs from the Parish Centre, and sit at the entrance or foyer. Thank you for your kind cooperation.

In view of the current Influenza A (H1N1) situation in Sabah, do take note of the following precautionary measures:

1. During mass, do not shake hands, instead bow to each other during sign of peace;
2. Receive Holy Communion with your hand;
3. Holy Water will not be available at church entrances.

Seminarians Rayner Bisius and Matthews Augustine Luta are presently posted to our Parish where they will undergo their pastoral immersions.

Rayner Bisius (left) has already completed his Theological studies and is scheduled to be ordained a deacon later this year.

Matthews Augustine in the meantime is in the final year of his studies.
